Observe Water
Daily Passage
Reflections
The Earth is a watery planet, from space, it looks mostly blue. Seventy-one percent of the Earth surface is covered in water. Humans too are watery. Sixty to seventy-five percent of our bodies are made up of water. Did you know that even our bones are watery at over thirty percent? Water is always moving. It cycles from ground and ocean and river, to sky and back again. It moves through our bodies, cleansing and hydrating and moving out wastes. Water, this tasteless, odorless, and colorless substance, is a key ingredient to life. It is a treasure far more precious than gold.
Water, an Earth element. It has several fascinating characteristics to observe. Water is reflective. Water takes the path of least resistance. Water always finds balance. And while water takes the shape of that which would hold it, it can also be a powerful shaper, over time, even working to form caves and shape mountains.
Proverbs Twenty-one begins with the words: “The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.” What a beautiful image. The heart is a stream of water. Not a puddle or just water, but a “stream.” This stream suggests action, flow. And this stream is being guided or directed by God.
Remember, in this story, we are the king, and this is our heart that the proverb is describing. We are the ones who search and judge our hearts, and this is our heart being described here: a stream of water. We have a heart that gives life, finds balance, moves without resisting, takes shape and is itself a shaper and that is being held in the hand of the Lord.
That is our message for today. Let us consider water and be thankful for this precious resource. Let us feel the water within and fill our hearts with the image. Let us resonate with the beautiful vibrations all around us, let is find balance, and when we need to, let us take the shape of the heart and shape the heart to go with the flow.

“Of course, we all know that water is transparent and has no taste, smell, or color. What’s amazing about water is that it is able to show us myriad “faces” depending upon the condition it is in or the information it is given.”
