Understory shrub. With a bursting heart so red. O strawberry bush!

Open Your Heart

This is the first year that I have ever encountered such a bush - though I have been walking in woods all of me life. And now - I am seeing them scattered throughout - maybe I am becoming more observant? I don’t know - I have aways been a good scout - my eyes are for the woods - I do love this bush - this understory shrub - has delighted me for sure. When I first encountered it - I used my Google identification app on my phone to discover its name, “strawberry bush.” The bright red and spiny fruit bursts open reveling round and smooth red orange seeds - “Open your heart” this slender shrub shouts - “Open your heart and live life to the fullest!!!”
