Mystic in the tree. Silent and stealthy you hold. Watcher of the night.

Watch

The owl - such a beautiful creature! In these woods near where I live, I was walking along the trail and there in the wood, I saw an owl. Oh wow, so very close. He was perched so low - almost eye to eye with me. He flew - ah such power in his energy. I took a few step and then - there - was another - A pair of them had perched in branches beside the trail. This one was bigger it seemed -Maybe I was just closer - I stood looking eye to eye. Amazing! I slowly moved closer and closer- continuing to follow my path, and was within inches of this bird! I was too in awe to get a picture or video. She moved her head around and around in a circle and did not leave her branch. Maybe a young one had fallen nearby? I’m not sure. Giving my respects, I continued on quietly - amazed. For the rest of that week, I continued to see the two - as day was breaking in the muted early light of the woods. On another occasion, and in another time of the year, David and I were walking in another part of this same park, and David spotted evidence of a large bird. Looking, he spotted her, the owl, and carefully snapped this picture that I have posted with this blog. Perhaps it’s the same owl that I communed with. I love this picture! The owl tells me to embrace the mystery of the early morning and to be vigilant - even in the dark -
