Stillness: Study 5

I wake with faith in the day. I place my feet on the floor and smile, confident too in my movements even in the darkened room, I know where I am heading—and so I move with ease. From within, I embrace confidence. “Confidence.” What a beautiful word—constructed long ago by wordsmiths using ancient Latin “con” meaning “with” and “fid” meaning “faith” and then tagging on the “ence” to refer to the state of being. “Confidence”—literally have the quality of being with faith. And what is it that I believe that takes such faith? I believe I am one with life- with the energy of all of life - one with God, and one with creation. It is in this conviction, that I move with great thanksgiving and with faith—in my darkened room, when I know where I am going, and even into the darkened day —which is full of the unknown.

Out of stillness, I move confidently.

I breathe and become aware of the space in my life. I inhale and exhale. I scan my body and mind for tension and soreness. I breath in, and release it - freeing up space, cleansing myself of any negativity. I breath again, and I am still and I observe. Confidence - I embrace it. I am thankful for it. And I move - one foot and then another - sure of my steps, and sure of the the universe supporting me.

It is only with total humility, and in absolute stillness of mind that we can know what indeed we are.
