God is With You; God is Within
Daily Dose of Emily D
“The rainbow never tells me
That gusts and storm are by
Yet she is more convincing
Than Philosophy
My flowers turn from Forums —
Yet eloquent declare
What Cato couldn’t prove me
Except the ‘birds’ were here! ”

Transcript
In our meditation today, our focus will be on becoming more aware of all of the positive witnesses that surround us in our day to day, reminding us that we are not alone. Many of us often work harder than we need to - searching for some proof when the clues are all around us. Once we open our eyes and allow ourselves the time to check in, we can begin to believe in the everyday miracles of life. With that said, let’s begin our meditation.
Find a comfortable seat on a rug, a pillow, a chair, or the ground. Close your eyes, rest your hands on your knees and begin to bring your awareness to your breath, slowly breathing in and out. Inhale and exhale. Relax your face. Allow your eyes to be heavy. Allow the tension to fall away. You are grounded and you are at peace. Inhale and exhale. Let go of any thoughts. Inhale and exhale. Be with yourself. Notice how you feel. Pay close attention to any tension you are still holding on to within and with each exhale, let it go.
I will now introduce our mantra for today. You can repeat it in your mind as you meditate, or simply use it to bring you back to the present moment if your mind begins to take you to the past or the future.
The flowers speak true, the birds’ song reminds me: God is with me; God is within! The flowers speak true, the birds’ song reminds me: God is with me; God is within! The flowers speak true, the birds’ song reminds me: God is with me; God is within!
And now, silently in your mind until you hear a soft bell letting you know that it is time to let go of the mantra . . .
It is time to let go of the mantra. As you go through your day today, be thankful for all of the witnesses. Open your eyes to the wonders all around you. Believe. And as you believe, like that rainbow let your heart sparkle as it reflects the light of the day. And like those beautiful flowers lifting up to the sky, let your heart be lifted. And like the birds’ song, let your heart sing. Be brave today, believe: God is with you; God is within.
