24: Hydrate - Mint, Nettle, and Rose Tea

Who would then deny that when I am sipping tea in my tearoom I am swallowing the whole universe with it and that this very moment of my lifting the bowl to my lips is eternity itself transcending time and space?

Reflection:

I love tea. I grow herbs and flowers that I know I will enjoy as tea. I love to plant them, and tend them, and to see them grow. My favorites are chamomile, peppermint, nettle, coreopsis and rose. I love the harvest; the smell of the leaves and petals newly picked is pleasant to my senses. I enjoy the process of drying and storing; I feel industrious. I collect the water in a kettle, apply heat, and wait. The waiting helps me to practice being fully present as I anticipate my cup of freshly brewed tea. I hear the whistle; the water is ready. I pour, and the steam calms me. I drink, and I feel warm inside. I hold the cup in my hands, and I am comforted. I enjoy the tastes. I relax knowing all of the benefits of this herb and that, knowing that it is also hydrating my cells. Yes, I do love my tea and that I make time for tea. I hope you will take some time today to enjoy tea with me. Let’s drink a cup together and feel how good it is to be alive, drinking our tea.
