True silence is the rest of the mind, and is to the spirit what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment.

Reflection:

Pause for a moment and consider your feet. Our feet are amazing - amazing! I love my feet! Often not thought of, the feet are so very important. Today, as a day of rest, we will honor our feet by resting them; and, as we sit to soak our soles, we can clear our minds and spirit as well.

So if you are ready, grab a big bowl, a pitcher or two of hot water, and some bath salts, and let’s get started!

Centering Thought:

Today I slow down; my feet are resting, my mind is at ease, and all tension is released.

Peaceful Herbs and Oils

Bath Blend

Items Needed to Create:

  • A large bowl

  • A large spoon

  • A kettle or pot to heat water

  • A pumice stone

  • A towel for drying

  • Oil or lotion for after the bath

  • Cotton socks for after the bath

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 Cup Epson Salts

  • 1/2 Cup Baking Soda

  • 1 dropper full or 1 T of jojoba oil

  • 2 to 3 sprigs fresh peppermint shredded

  • 3 to 5 coreopsis flowers

  • 5 to 10 drops lavender essential oil

  • 5 to 10 drops lemongrass essential oil

  • 5 to 10 drops clary sage essential oil

  • 1 cup of boiling water

  • Enough room-temperature water to mix with the hot to fill the bowl to cover your feet

Directions:

Place all of the ingredients into the bowl and cover with boiling water. Use the remaining room-temperature water to fill to the desired level and comfortable temperature for your feet. Enjoying the scent of these ingredients melding together, stir until blended. Test the temperature with a finger. If it is good, soak your feet. After a minute, go over your feet with a pumice stone. And again, place feet into the bath. Enjoy. Relax. Clear your mind so it is only you, and your feet, and the nice smells, and the warm foot bath. At this point, you may enjoy repeating our centering thought for the day as you let your feet relax in the warm water: Today I slow down; my feet are resting, my mind is at ease, and all tension is released. After 10 to 15 minutes, remove your feet, and use a towel to dry.

Note: An added step I thought of after I filmed this video. Nearby have an oil of your choice. I like Vitamin E Skin Oil by JASON. Apply to your feet, messaging gently. Then, pull on a nice pair of comfortable organic cotton socks. Your feet will love you!
