Lyrical - feathered - Great friends of the air, the sky - I give you my thanks ~

We don’t own the planet Earth, we belong to it. And we must share it with our wildlife.

Birds

Birds, this morning I pause to thank you. Thank you for your song. Thank you for your flight. Thank you for your freedom and your inspiration. Thank you for your beauty. I can not imagine a world without you—you who are so colorful and always dressed for festivals in your soft feathers. To songbirds around my house - that bring me joy each day with your flapping and chirping -and the hummers of the summer - you amaze me with your sweet sounds and speed and color - to the woodpeckers, whip-poor-wills- and nuthatches - to the mighty raptors - the hawk and the eagle - to the penguin, and the pigeon, the stork, and the ostrich - To the owl and all of your mystery - to the wild geese and the wild ducks and the king fishers and the heron - to the crow - you amaze me with your skills of observation and articulations - amazing variety- thank you! Thank you! To the named and unnamed - I thank you - thank you!

The reason birds can fly and we can’t is simply because they have perfect faith, for to have faith is to have wings.
— ― J.M. Barrie, The Little White Bird
