Woodland Meditation Sixteen
Still - stiller than still. Weighted-grounded-carveable. The stone on my path.
Be Still
I do like rocks. So many varieties - gems of blue and green and clear and cutting precious stones - marbles, and magmas, and granites - and so many more - condensed minerals - earth - so weighty - rocks - My maiden name - Craig - alludes the rocky regions of Scotland where my ancestors hailed. Myself - a mover - always active - the rock teaches me stillness - But as my haiku came to be - I also realize that rocks - especially ones in our paths can be seen as obstacles and even excuses for abandoning the journey - The rock in my poem is weighted - grounded - but also carvable - reminding me that I can appreciate the rocks in my life that happen to be in my path - I can learn stillness and roundedness, and presence - and I can also transform them -
